My review of Paintball Mafia's "Joy Ride" pack.

I got the Joy Ride pack as part of my sponsorship with Tank's Katy Paintball, Big Man Paintball, and Archon Paintball last Saturday and took it for a spin in practice.

Pack pics here:

This is my first time using a capless pack and my first time using a 10 round tube pack in a long time. The pack was made very well, sewing was professional, clean, and looked great. The pack's colors were black on black with a Paintball Mafia Logo in white that rested on the inside of the straps when worn. It holds 10 round tubes and comes with a 4 12 gram holder for the side, a stock, or your wrist.

The pack fit like most professional packs do today: a belt around the waist velcroed shut with two elastic tabs to tighten the pack. I have a 40" waist and the pack seemed to fit fine - I would have liked a little more belt to get the tabs a little more in front. The pack is very very light - even when filled. It didn't move all day and played just fine.

Overall a very fine pack for the money.

Suggestions:

1) Longer belt with longer elastic tabs.
2) the 12 gram holder is cheesy and by far the poorest made object of the design. Redesign with 12 gram holder integrated into the pack.
3) Padding, lumbar support, anti slip material all could be added to make the pack more classy.

Overall I would give it 7 of 10 - but think it would be very tough to find a more servicable pragmatic stock class pack today.
