Looks like the rumors about Phantom parts used in/on the gun are true. Bolt looks like a Phantom to me, they just drill and tap it where a Phantom cocking rod would go. The 12gram changer looks CCI, and the feed is a milled CCI Sc feed block. The feedgate is prolly CCI also............

Hopefully they do release them, with refinements that would make you remember why Lapco was one of the BEST pump guns. But like Carter said, without Colin there..............................

Thanks for the review!
Too bad it wasn't available for showing off at Castle.

I'm curious to see the anno color in person.

Did you take the gripframe off the thing and look at the guts? Did they do anythign too differnt other than just reshapeing the trigger itself?

I don't suppose you're interested in parting out the grips? J/K
I hope you'll be at "B" Oct 21st event. It doesn't seem like i'll be able to make the other two.

Just a quick FYI, had the stock class tube been made out of titanium it would actually weigh more than an aluminum tube. For comparision, 1" round bar 6AL/4V GRADE 5 titanium weight/lineal foot is 1.5355 pounds. 1" round bar 6061-T6 aluminum weight/lineal foot 0.9232 pounds.

You often hear people say that titanium is strong as steel but light as aluminum. A more accurate description would be that it's strong as steel and half the weight (it's actually 40% lighter).

Is the feed block plastic (ABS or some such) or delrin? If it's delrin then I doubt that it would crack easily. Delrin has a high tensile strength and should hold up well in that situation.

if these things do get re-released to the public, would you think they will re-produce some of the accessories that they made for the originals?

No. It's been something like 3 years just getting the ghosts out the door, and they're still not here yet. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for "accessories".

The only issue I have with the phantoms, the pump only having 1 rod and thus being slightly wobbly, they don't seem to address. Add to that the fact that phantom comes in more colors, and is cheaper, gives me no reason to get a Ghost.

Too bad too, they are beautiful markers

So when and where will we be able to purchase these? I've wanted a grey ghost ever since I saw some tech at the local field buy a nearly new one off some kid who didn't know any better. He did give him $200 for it (thermo tank and all!) so he didn't rip the kid off per say... but I digress. I want a grey ghost and since I never seem to have the cash for an original one I may as well try and grab the remake.

When? Undisclosed... if ever.

Where? Lapco direct: http://www.lapco.net/

OR paintball shops/Lapco dealers near you.
