| Seasoned Member Join Date: Oct 2006 | GatProducts Pump Kit with Pump Guide Product GATProducts Pump Kit with Pump Guide Description Its black all around. Pretty damn light for a pump kit. Comes with a pump guide that locks in with a set screw. Review Ok, so this is my first review on a product. I normally don't review products because most of anything now-a-days doesn't impress me much. So I was looking at playing pump paintball again and found an old Free Flow cocker laying around. So, of course, first thought was to get a pump kit, and the options that came to my mind were CCM. But then a friend of mine told me about a new pump kit that caught my attention. He basically said its like the old WGP pump kit lightened with a pump guide to reduce wobble. I happen to be a huge fan of the old WGP pump kits but they always seemed grindy. So I told a friend of mine to send me one. When I recieved it I was stil skeptical. Mounting is a breeze you it has flat spots for you to put a wrench on so you can tighten it easily. The pump guide is actually quite nice, simple and works well. It locks down with a set screw . The rest of the mounting is pretty standard of a pump kit. I mean how hard is it to put on a pump kit. Anyhow, so I took it out back and to my amazment the thing is actually really damn smooth. There was no wobble and no grind. It literally felt like the CCM but not so substantial in size. It also comes with a pump return spring which for me is the perfect weight. At any rate I'm pretty impressed. My initial thoughts was it was going to be like the CCM Econo Kit, but actually turned out to be a little better in the sense that the pump guide clamps down and doesn't spin. Also the pump itself isn't as heavy they have machined just enough material to be comfortable yet light enough. Favorite features -Its all black -Pump guide locks down with a set screw -Light Weight. -Comfortable -Reasonably priced Pictures Here are the pictures of my gun with the pump kit installed. If you guys are looking for a kit definently consider this one. ![]() ![]() |

| Back to paintball. | GATProducts.com $50 bucks~ I just noticed, they're almost exactly the same as the sanchez machine econo pump kits cept these are blacked out with the guide included, but the pressed aluminum pump rod on it was horrendous and I had to replace it with a CCM one. How's the pump rod on this one?

Too bad it has an aluminum pump rod. Would have liked to see a stainless pump rod. Looks nice though.

They are actually manufactured by Sanchez Machine. My team has 2 guns running them...one of the guys still wants to get a CCM kit...the other is content with his Gat Kit. I would also like to have seen a stainless rod as the anno seemed to have some bubble indicating lesser quality metals...as well as the guide being Delrin as I see the aluminum guide eventually wearing the anno on the rod.

Actually you know, I don't like stainless steel rods. I haven't experienced an aluminum rod bending or breaking. As to the reason why I don't like the stainless rods, is because over time the stainless rods will strip and grind away on the threads of teh back block. I've seen this with Snipers and Autocockers. As for the anno, its bead blasted black anno. Depending on the type of anno used it won't wear as easily. Actually my guide, which is aluminum is still as black as the day I put it on my gun. Plus there is going to be a new pump made for it so it doesn't look like the Trinity or what not. I also forgot to mention, the included pump return spring is probably one of the best. You don't really notice the tension but it definently returns the pump to its original position. All in all I'm still impressed with this kit. |

Great review, Furion... Word of advise, tighten down the threads on your pump rod as to bring the pump down over the wrench knuckle. I have had my GAT Pump kit for several months with lots of use and still no wear! They are actually manufactured by Sanchez Machine, after all they are a machine shop. I heard thu the grape vine there gonna have a Gat signature pump handle, Sick!
