Try tipping it sideways when you're using c02 (no antisiphon), then tipping it back up and firing. You'll get a 30+ increase in FPS. Couple that with a nice "dial-a-welt" ANS velocity adjuster, and your classic mag could be a freakin' hunting rifle

Now that is more likely why the good ol' AA boys developed the box. Kind of like sliding the sight rail forward on the ported barrel of your PMI 3 to chrono and then sliding it back to cover the rear ports when playing.

Back in the good old days it was one shot over the chrono, insert finger in nose, get a good one, then smear it just inside the barrel of your (insert name of old fixed bbl pump here)

The biggest flaw of the automag, IMO, was no downstream pressure vents.

If the downstream flow because supersaturated with liquid co2 (because of angle, etc), it could easily go supercritical on a warm day, resulting in a pressure spike of 2000-3000psi!

I remember one time, in particular, that such a Automag was chronoed at 1200fps!! Now, I realize that was clearly a chrono error because of the paint shrapnel leaving the barrel, but it was also incredibly loud to boot. The players in the nearby field stopped playing, and all looked at the chrono.

I accidently shot a regulator piston out the back of a classic mag at a speed such that it went clear through about an inch of soft pine chair rail, and is still in my wall somewhere. I can only assume that it went through the insulation in the wall, too.

Now, that was the result of liquid c02 trapped between the on/off ASA and the valve, no tank attached. The gun was tipped sideways (someone else had been using it) and I was taking off a lock on the velocity adjuster.

They're a brilliant marker, but dangerous too.

Someone resurrected this thread so I thought I would answer your question:

Artist is Big Audio Dynamite and the song is Medicine Show. You want the album too??

Oh, and since it has been resurrected, is it still for sale?
