| Mag-icidal Maniac Join Date: Sep 2006 | ATS AT-85/M-4 conversion (Q-loaded)
This is my AT-85, which was converted to the M-4 type configuration by the previous owner, and then sent to ATS to have the internals updated. I suspect I'm going to regret selling it (I really enjoy playing with it), but I promised myself I would thin out the collection this year, and since I haven't played with it lately, and I need some cash, here it is. ![]() ![]() The gun was tuned up by ATS after I purchased it, and it's run flawlessly since. It has the factory rate-of-fire limiter installed, which lowers the ROF in full-auto mode to a little over 9 bps, to comply with the requirements of certain scenario game producers back when they still allowed full-auto. It's easily removable, which would bring the ROF back up to 12 bps, but I like it the way it is; 9 per second is plenty fast, and it has much more of a "big machine gun" sound. Especially since this gun is LOUD. Even more so if you toss on a loudener... One game I played, I had a friend (who was playing on the opposite side) tell me that he told his squad they could always find out where to go by listening for my gun. You seriously could hear me shooting from anywhere on the field (and even in the staging area). The gun is set up with a Q-loader feeding into the hopper adapter clip. This is easily the most reliable feeding setup I've found for the ATS guns. Since I installed the Q, I've used this setup in five 24-hour scenario games with exactly zero misfeeds. It's compact, fast, and reliable. The Q-loader is mounted on the right side of the gun; I use the Q-loader's Custom Mounting Socket, mounted to the carry handle. I used to have it under the barrel, like this: ![]() But the whole setup was far too front-heavy for me. Now the weight is balanced at the center of the gun. My first-generation Q-loader setup had developed some cracks over the years, so Q-loader replaced everything with a complete new kit; what you're getting is actually a complete Q-loader kit, new in the box. The foregrip is a Fobus T-grip (which runs $59 by itself), which holds most standard tac-lights (I'll include one) and provides a built-in trigger for the light. Essentially it gives you a remote switch without having wires hanging off the gun - very slick. ![]() The gun comes with the 5-pod Q kit, plus my custom mount and an old Ricochet hopper that I use for loading the Q-pods (it's a very common mod to the loading socket that lets you load pods much faster than using the standard "silo", but you'll get that as well), a spare 25-round magazine, plus as many spare magazine parts as I can find, and the tactical foregrip/flashlight combo. The grip on the gun is an original Bakelite M-16 grip, since the stock Eurogrips never fit my big mitts, but if you want, I probably still have the Euros laying around somewhere, and can include them. Asking $425 plus actual shipping for everything. I realize that not everyone likes the Q-loader, so if you don't want it, I'll sell the rest of the package for $375. ARGH. WANT. ... If I can pick up a few extra shifts, I might grab this one. I mean, there's nothing wrong with owning 4 ATS guns, right?
