RTC Tracer Model One Tracerball Illuminator - Very Rare

The RTC Tracer Model One attaches to the end of your barrel and will illuminate any Tracerballs (the glow in the dark balls) that you shoot. This eliminates the need for a UV hopper.

It's great for scenario play, as it allows you to see where your paint is going all night long (just buy some Tracerballs and mix them in with your paint). It also looks like a silencer to add to the Mil-Sim aspect.

It seems that it's almost impossible to find these currently.

I'm not sure at all what these are worth these days, so if I'm asking too much feel free to let me know.

Price: $35 shipped OBO

So it'll 'charge' a glow-in-the-dark ball as it zips past at 285fps? I thought the things had to sit in light for a few minutes.

A field in Billings tried the tracer balls for a night scenario. They tried setting them under lights for a while, and using a camera flash to charge them up. While they did glow, they didn't hold their charge long enough to be useful.

In theory this device was supposed to eliminate the need to 'pre-charge' the tracer balls, but no-one at the field had one, so no clue how well it works.

I used to have one of these on the AT85 I had....It worked quite well and was able to keep up with the gun in Full Auto mode.Only drawback was the glow paint was extremely brittle.

I'm assuming that they hit them with enough UV over that split second that they stay illuminated for the second or two that they're in flight. Probably not much longer after that.

The price is now lowered to $50 shipped as it seems that $50 is about what they're going for these days.

Anyone questioning how well they work. I used my friend's last week. It works surprisingly well with the tracerballs. The paint glows very bright up to medium distances. The fill itself isn't glow in the dark so once they break you can't see them anymore.

Just remember - tracer rounds work BOTH ways. You see where you shot, but they can see where you shot from.

Not trying to be a downer for your sale, PenguinMan, just a reminder! To be honest, it's quite tempting, especially for an upcoming scenario game (http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/e...ep-8-9-ga.html).
