4500psi Shoebox compressor for sale

This is one of the first 100 made. Needs new orings in the piston . Also has none of the upgrades that the newer compressors have. I would keep this, but needing funds right now till I get another job

SOLD!!!!

Not sure on actual size as I never sized them; I just used what came in the seal kits. Best bet would be to replace all orings in both pistons (3 in each piston). Replacing them involves disconnecting the airlines, pulling off snap rings to remove the pistons, and some other minor technicalities involved. Tom Kaye has some pretty thorough videos on youtube explaining repairs for these compressors. But yeah, replacing the seals is an involved process.

You can get a rebuild kit for them from their web site. It's a pretty simple thing to do with an o-ring pick. There are videos that Tom made of how to do all of that stuff.

These things are pretty great. I love mine. I don't lube the pistons ever after seeing how much gunk gets sucked into the piston. When I got mine it was full of grease on the inside. Cleaned it all out, relubed the rings as directed and just run it when I need to.

Well those snap rings to get the pistons out can be stubborn.... And yes, you can order all upgrades and seal kits from the shoebox website.

For everyones info, those pistons on my shoebox were pretty well greased .
