I can do the machine work.

I assume you need the valve tube:
- threaded for the stock co2 plug
- holes for the trigger group
- air passage

Did I miss anything?

I can get you a price. We will continue this via PM. Please PM me any details I missed.

Ty,

Do you still have the 13/16" OD w/ .688 ID tubing for barrels? If so, I may be contacting you when I get some markers in next week.

Cheers'
O'Lane

cool stuff, you wouldn't happen to know if you can solder brass to aluminum would you?

I see some future for brass lined aluminum barrels

I think it would be very, very, very difficult if at all possible.

The old Montneel's used to have brass-lined aluminum barrels. They were heavy.

There is a product that allows a solder like connection between copper/brass and aluminium. I have not idea how strong said product would be, but it might suffice.

Instead of using solder, a press fit might be a better idea. If there is an interference fit of about .002", you can freeze the brass and heat the aluminium to around 350*. Between contraction of the brass, and expansion of the aluminium, you *should* be able to get them to slide together. When the metals return to room temperature, the fit will be permanent.

wow, good idea I was just thinking about a decent use for all those crappy stock wgp barrels.. it wouldn't take much effort to stick one in a lathe and remove a little material to slip the brass in.. I guess the most difficult part would be porting the brass without creating burrs.

if I get some funds ahead I would be very interested in some of this tubing.

The boring of the barrel will not be too difficult, assuming that the person has a suitable sized lathe, and the correct equipment. (Steady rest, boring bars, etc) The hard part is getting the correct fit, and then pressing the barrel liner into the barrel.

You might want to check out how they reline big guns. There might be useful information there. I have not done any research in that area, but I know that the military does that for their larger gun tubes.

The inside of the tube is in mill condition. Generally speaking it is moderately well polished, with few if any scratches. Scratches that exist are exceedingly shallow, and almost always linear, due to the drawing process. There *might* be some very light corrosion, in the form of a mild idscoloration on the outside of the tube. For the most part this doesn't affect anything, as most people are going to solder the tube to something else, and therefore will be polishing it after the solder process is complete. In you case, you could simply polish the outside with Brasso, and a rag.

You can polish the inside to a mirror finish by using a drill with a dowel that has a cloth cut into the end, and some Brasso.
