I have three of my personal tanks for sale, all with anti-siphon installed professionally by my local shop's airsmiths. The 9 oz tank valve is marked where the anti-siphon tube is pointing up. On both 16 oz tanks, the burst disc is where the anti-siphon tubes point up. ![]() 9 oz PMI CO2 Aluminum Tank: $20 Shipped - *SOLD to greenmtnphantom* - No Hydro Required ![]() 16 oz PMI CO2 Tank Aluminum Tank: $25 Shipped *Deal fell through, posted on eBay* - Hydro in 2012 ![]() 16 oz Fuel CO2 Tank Chrome Moly: *TRADED to pizzaluvr* - No Hydro Required PayPal preferred. Why does the 9oz not require hydro testing?

Wouldn't the Anti-Siphon tube vary on different guns?

The note reads, "Any cylinder not exceeding two (2) inches in outside diameter and less than two (2) feet in length is exempt from volumetric expansion testing. If your 9oz tank is less than 2" OD and coded DOT-3AL, it falls under this rule as well. Not sure about the Chromoly tank D-

I called the shop, Velocity Paintball, where I bought it from a few months ago and who also installed the anti-siphon kit. They told me it meets the rules for it not to be re-tested. I measure it myself to be about 2" in diameter. It's definitely under 2 ft long. There is also no re-test date stamped on the tank unlike the on the 16 oz from the same manufacturer.

I didn't think a 9oz was less than 2

What my airsmith did was screw it in, and back it out to a position where it would be easy to mark the position of the tube on the valve. Even though the tank would not be screwed all the way into the ASA, it would still be stable under pressure. |

In the old days, we used shims with anti-siphons. basically just thin metal rings that went over the valve. You simply stacked them on until the a/s lined up correctly. Lots of places used to sell them, though its strange that they are rare now. I've made some before by cutting rings from an empty soda can. Some 9oz are hydro exempt. Some are not. I don't remember the brands, but that was my experience when I worked at the local field. Same for the chromemoly tanks. The ones I've seen were hydro-exempt, but had a 20-year lifespan.
