How far out can you see w/o an illuminator on this guy? Also What reticle does it have? How is the clarity at say.... 100 + yrds?

I'm interested, however I need to see if it would suit my needs which... fall outside of paintball and into coyote hunting

This scope is Russian Military Surplus. And, to be honest, I considered keeping the scope just for coyote hunting. But, I havent been hunting in a while, so I decided to let it go. The reticle is just a projected "+" on the display. The intensity is variable so you can make it where it is barely visible, or very bright. And, this is a Starlight scope, it amplifies the availible light. So, on a full moon, you can see very good, but on a cloudy night, things are a little darker. It does have a IR illuminator, and this works supprisingly well out to fairly decent ranges. The IR illuminator will reflect in animals eyes, so, even if you cannot see the whole animal, you can see the reflection from their eyes. Also note, there is no field of depth with these scopes, so navigating with one is a bit tricky. Also, the magnification is only 1.5 on this scope, as that is all that I needed for paintball. I think that you can buy the front lenses to change the magnification, but I am not sure. If interested, I can find out.

One more thing, the scope comes with a filter cap. This allows you to zero in the scope in the daytime with out hurting the intensifier tube.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to PM me or shoot me an email

Kruger - Thanks for your help I appreciate it. You can get a front cap to boost the magnification on this model to 5X from what I could find on the net. I will definitely think about it and let you know.

Anyway you could snap a picture through the Scope for me so I can see what the clarity is? maybe in a closet or basement?

Once again thanks for all your help

The back of the scope has a diopter (sp?) adjustment on it. It can be adjusted for your eye, just like a regular scope. And the picture is very sharp. Not gonna say razor, but is very clear. And, I tried to snap a pic, but it just aint gonna happen. I have a digital camera and the focus zone is a bit confused by the tube, so it takes the pic out of focus. Sorry...

Trade you a pair of BT-16's? One is brand new with a clip and the other one is new, but is missing the cocking handle and front grip. PM incoming.
