I agree. It sounds like a great bang-for-buck spoolie. It's got a couple of things going against it:

1. Name brand recognition (it's not Dye, Tippmann, etc.)
2. Lack of marketing. The closest pro-shop didn't even know it existed.

Without brand recognition, people will question their customer service. That's potentially unfair, but that's likely how it'll play out. Classic Catch-22. Lots of people here may know Mokal for the old Aura (ie. spyder clone), but I can guarantee your average walk-on won't have a clue.

The guy's in Mississauga. I should stop by on my way to Toronto when I visit friends and ask if he'd allow a shooting vid.

Sorry, I meant bottle pressure. I wouldn't buy a $350 marker if I have to buy a new $170 bottle for it. Not that I can justify it in the first place.

If you do, take a note on the plastic bits. It looks mostly machined aluminum, which would be nice.

Oh, that's what you meant. Mine(now edwards1's) worked just fine on a normal HP tank. Most of the parts were indeed aluminum, the only plastic I can think of are the ball detents, bolt front, bolt tail(both are nylatron, I believe), and the eye covers. I have a disassembly video in case you are interested, as well.

Got to hold one of these at Adrenalin Paintball in London. They had it for $300. Nice, light marker. If I was in the market for a spoolie, this would be high on my list.

The shop employee there said Valken had just bought out Mokal and they were going to start distributing them much more aggressively. Again, I can neither confirm nor deny. It's just what the guy behind the counter told me.

I got one in a trade about a month ago, and I gotta say I was very impressed. Shot very smooth, fast, not too much kick, not too loud, and its suuuppper light. If your in the market for a marker in that price range I would say go with the 11 aura. If any of you want to buy or trade for a lightly used one p.m. me

Valken contracted with Mokal to produce a run of Auras that Valken will market under the name "Proton". There will be some changes (mostly improvements like a better trigger), but Valken has not bought Mokal. Yet. Gino may try to do so later if the Proton really takes off.
