Ice Epic Exhaust Valve Stick?

Greetings folks! i hope there are enough Epic users floating around here to answer my question.

So i just picked up an Epic used with the understanding that it was not in perfect functional order. Upon inspection it would seem the jet in the exhaust valve assembly is getting stuck in the 'down' position after firing. I can get it to cycle once or twice if i take the grip frame off and manually re-set the jet, but after that it stays down and keeps the epic from re-setting for the next cycle.

Any ideas? i can given the internals a once-over and they were all clean, no broken o-rings and everything seems to slide nice.

Thanks in advance!

"well there's your problem"

This is what i found when i opened the exhaust assembly:

I didn't realize i could get in there the first time i worked over the marker. So now i guess the question is, does anyone know what the specs are on this seal? Thanks!

Hmm, define exhaust seal. Is that the oring at the top of the valve that drops to vent the air or is it the plastic looking seal with what appears to be metal of some kind in it? If it is the latter of the two I wish you the best of luck, I have been searching for specs on the seals in the epic for a long time. They appear to be hydraulic seals, but I am not sure where to get them and Jim at ICE hasn't been heard from in years. The manual is less than helpful.

Godspeed sir! And if you find anything let the community know. If you're interested, I would sell my epic without the added rap4 reg on it to you cheaper than I offered before.

So just to be super clear about what that picture is of, its part 509 from page 5 in the patent

Does anyone know of a way to look-up parts used in conjunction with patents?

So i haven't had a lot of luck finding out what the real part used originally is... but i DO have good news for other epic users. I was able to cut my own spacer from some plastic i had laying around with great results. I will try to post some pictures, but basically its a thin plastic spacer to keep the exhaust plunger from going too far down into the grip frame. I also lightly lubed the plunger and now my epic is shooting wonderfully!

How did you get 507 and 510 apart? I think mine is leaking down this... I was about to shoot one hopper before it started leaking out the big screw in the asa and out the trigger area.
