| Blacknight Ok so i have a Burgfield Int'l Blacknight that has been sitting in my gear bag for neigh on 10 years or maybe longer i don't even know. Anyway its got some sort of problem. As i recall someone told me they used the monteel valve. Anyway when its aired up there is a slight leak out the barrel. now when the gun is repeatedly fired the leak gets successively worse to the point its like a froze up automag. And it doesn't stop till take tanks empty or taken off. Anyone know how to fix it. Madmox -If it sounds like a gun and kicks like a gun... it must be a blacknight

| Cupseal, most likely. They are a montneel clone, but almost nothing is compatible. Might be able to use a montneel cupseal, but I doubt it, because the burgfield valve is much larger than a montneel. Also, the valve might be press fit into the body, so removing it for repair and reinstalling it might cause more trouble than it solves. You can find relevant info on montneel.com , that's where my info comes from. These things were pretty much designed as a cheap, disposable semi auto, so I wouldn't hold much hope for fixing it...

| I've never removed my valve, for fear of never being able to put it back in. But it MUST be servicable. Otherwise, you would not be able to access the hammer, main spring, or all the valve parts. A quick fix might be to simply pour a ton of paint lube into the valve/hammer/asa areas. That should fix any small leaks. For a bigger leak, if you can get the valve out, and remove the cupseal, compare it to pictures of cupseals on my webpage, or Bacci's "Back to School" sale. If they look the same, you could try getting a Montneel cupseal from Bacci. You might even be able to pop the seal in the cup out, and replace with an oring. nick

| When you have it out, look in the port(s) on the side of the valve body at the cupseal face(the front face inside of the rear of the valve). On a montneel, you can usually tell if the cupseal is out of alignment, even if just a bit, by how it sits against the powertube. EDIT: Also, gas the gun up, fire a few shots to get it leaking really well, then quickly degas and disassemble the gun right before you check the valve. Might not be so easy to spot if its had time to sit, considering you said it only leaks a bit at first but gets continually worse.
