Raincover lovers thread

I know MCB probably has the largest contingent of raincover users in the world. Anyone else have some silencer porn worth sharing?

Yep, that's a RAP4 Shotgun:

Alot of people have had problems with them, but I've had fun turning mine into a reliable primary. I'm hearing from some people that RAP4 is addressing some of the issues from the factory now, but they'll have to do quite a bit to make up for the tarnished reputation.

Anyone notice the Nelspot bolt handle? It's all about the subtle things.

What gun are you using it on? I've noticed that rain covers make a huge difference on unregged or high pressure guns, and almost nothing on low pressure guns. I'm using the stock foam cylinders that came with them.

And yeah Gringo, here's the link to that thread. It's sort of a walk through for the main functional mod I did. In my opinion it's a great gun now after bringing the bolt forward and simplifying the trigger assembly. Also, yes, the Shotgun is fed from the lower tube by springs. You load it just like a real shotgun.

Problem is I don't have any 1 inch barrels that fit the girth of the area, but I was able to cram my previous blazer's unported barrel down into the foamed area, thinking it would work, but it didn't make much of a difference. It just sits there nowadays. I might try it on my new minimag with the stock barrel.

You can get TASOs in 7/8" ID to fit Sheridan barrels. If the Palmer barrel is anything like that, it'll be a good fit. I've never had good luck making these work on guns they don't fit properly. The rain covers rely on a seal with the barrel, so if you're just sticking it down there I'm sure a whole lot of blowby happens. When it's a close fit, I use aluminum tape, but if there's too much difference the alignment goes all to hell so you end up breaking balls to boot.

Russ, where did you acquire so many nice raincovers? The only TASO one I have seen is owned by a friend of mine (on a WGP Ranger) that won't ever be parted. Do they ever come up for sale on MCB?
