2012 Paintball Spending I have no idea where the other "yearly spending" threads went but we've done this before. So, how much did you spend on paintball this year? Break it down however you can: guns bought, paint/field fees paid etc. If you sold paintball gear or worked at a paintball field and want to post that data or offset the expenses, go for it. Mine include field fees, paint, 12-grams, travel to EMR etc. 2012 Paintball Spending Out: $3,000 In: $1,100 Net: $1,900 Previous year: 2011 Paintball Spending Out: $7,170 In: $4,700 Net: $2,470 I'm aiming to cut my 2013 expenses way down. The field fees and consumables weren't a large part of the above since I play stock class. I put in about 26 days of play per year. (every weekend for the half a year that's warm enough to play) FYI, I used Microsoft Money to track my spending and income and have a "Leisure: Paintball" category. I used to differentiate between "cost to participate" and "gear" but don't anymore. |
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i dont want to know.... i bet i spent $10k (thats me and my 2 brothers), plus sponsoring 3 pump teams, and 2 national events I sold just as much gear, so i bet i broke even? maybe..... hahaha i really should actually look at the bank account a little more often weekly play ~$70 (case of paint and 3 entries/airs on average) x 40 weeks psp galveston ~$600 (air, gas, hotel, food, paint, entry) psp phoeniz ~$600 (2 air tickets, gas, rental car, hotel, food, paint, entry) wcps local series x 4 events x 12 teams = 48 cases of paint @ $65 (1 case per drug and alcohol free team) supergame x2 ~$1000ea (sponsorship, booth, prizes, gear, food) elves vs reindeer $250 (sponsorship, prizes from OCD, 3 entries, food) ssc bus.... $2600 and burnt to the ground i did just under 300 freak bores x $35 i did 15 halfblocks i did 5 midblocks i did a few crazy cockers i did a few custom phantoms plus all the other guns i flipped.... breaking even sounds about right |
I was actually looking at this today. I went through all my receipts and came up with this Bought soft goods :223 Paint and play : 525. Total: 758. I didn't sell a single thing this year. Nor will I probably sell anything anytime soon. I don't have this hording, or whoring issue that most of the board seems to have. |
I keep careful track every year, my total allowance is a net of $1000/year. In 2012, I spent $2406, of which $159 was shipping costs, but took in $1384 and a 13/3k. Net of -$1022, but I'll spot myself the $22 because of the tank in the trade. Last year was about the same, $2916 out, $1878 in, net of -$1038. I'm expecting a lot less in and out in '13, since I've really unloaded all of my unused gear and markers, and have seemingly exhausted my desire to try different markers. I have what I like and what I use, and that's it, so my budget this year is heavily skewed towards making more games while buying and selling fewer things. |
For this past year $2,000 easy just in parts&gun whoring, a few anno jobs and a bit of playtime I've probably broken even due to selling stuff and random things at the past gun shows |
Im not sure if I broke even or if I made $. My latest project used a tons of funds and extravaganza as well Next year I shoud be good :) |
you mean people actually WANT to keep track of how much they spend on paintball? that's crazy |
In one of the previous years, someone suggested looking through PayPal reports. Seemed to work, for those buying and selling online. |
This thread is killing my buzz. I could have probably taken a vacation to Hawaii for what I spent on paintball. Not a luxurious vacation, or a particularly long one, but I could've flown there and stayed at a Motel 6 for a week! I came up with a very quick and dirty $1500 on the major gear purchases and big games, plus probably enough rec ball and odds & ends to hit $2000. I don't sell, so there's no offset. This year I had a blast picking up old guns and putting them in working order. Next year I hope to finish those projects as well as my 98, and spend more on trigger time :) |
Wow you guys are dealing with little numbers. You really don't want to know how much I spent on paintball in 2012. I went to all the 4 NPPL events, 3 CPPL events, living lengends, 2 other big games. Thats just playing.. Then practice once a week for 6 months at $60.00 each. Not including buying gear. I bet I topped 8g for the year and maybe 1g back in personal sales. From April till October I was gone for paintball 3 out of 4 weeks a month. Would I do it again? Hells yea! Does my wife like it? She says what ever keeps me happy... God I love her! |
