Metal covers of pop songs are definitely among my favourites. Something about head-banging while flying down the highway with "Milkshake" blasting is just too hilarious to pass up (covered by 'I Set my Friends on Fire')

Other than a number of hilarious covers by them, my other favourite would have to be 'Oops I did it Again' by Children of Bodom.

There was a tribute album to Iron Maiden done by a number of other metal bands all covering different songs. It had some great covers, but the one that sticks out as really bad was the cover of Run to the Hills. I think it was a bad idea to try and improve on that song in the first place, but it just didn't work the same. The guitar riff didn't remind me of running horses hooves anymore for one thing.

Love the Chris Isaak verson, but liking this cover.
Something about the steel drums near the end that does it for me. No idea why.

Didn't find this one in this thread. This is pretty well done... assuming you remember the original and all.

In my opinion, one of the best covers of all time is Hey ya by Obidiah Parker. It is outstanding!

Another absolutely fantastic cover is ".Somewhere over the rainbow" by Eva Cassidy.
