Really surprised no one has mentioned Disturbed's cover of "Land of Confusion", its pretty mainstream and blows the original Genesis version out of the water in my opinion.

Tool's cover of Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" is pretty good, can't decide if I like it more than the original or not, both are spectacular.

I personally like NIN's original version of "Hurt" more than the cover, but the cover is very well done and respectable.

Rage Against the Machine's album "Renegades" is entirely covers, all of which I enjoy more than the originals, especially "Kick Out The Jams", and everyone's favorites "Pistol Grip Pump" and "Renegades of Funk".

Spooks Illustrated acoustic cover of NIN's "Terrible Lie" is pretty good, its usually credited to Tool or Marilyn Manson, but regardless its a good listen.

I'll have to agree that Mansons covers were so-so at best. Not my favs anyway.

Social D's death or glory cover is great. Speaking of which, here Mike Ness (of Social D) covering Bob Dylan

And here is a pretty haunting cover of Tears for Fears' "Mad World" by Gary Jules.

Both excellent covers IMO.

Want to hear a terrible cover? Dig up Volbeat's take on "only want to be with you".

For a decent band, that cover really dropped them a few notches with me.

Gimme Shelter - Puddle of Mudd - YouTube

Here's another one I really like, not sure on how valid it is as a 'cover' as it actually is the original lead singer.

You are the MAN!! I can’t believe your the only one to give props to the Gimme, Gimmes!!

I think their cover of Wild World and Tammy Wynette’s Stand by your Man blow the roof off the orginals!
