Getting into house music..
 

So the party scene at my school is pretty big this year, starting to really like house music and wondering if you guys had suggestions. Project X's soundtrack was killer and im liking daft punk too, but beyond that I dont know where to look

Justice and Daft Punk. deadmau5 isn't bad either, but not as good as Daft Punk or Justice (most artists in this genre aren't).

#1 recommendation without a doubt is Scuba, his stuff is nuts:





I just saw him at a little venue in Vancouver a few weeks ago and it was sweet. Will definitely see again!

#2 would be Burial, I just got into his stuff recently but it's excellent, very groovy and deep ambient house with a lot of other genres at play:





Also related though not strictly house genre, Four Tet is excellent, this collaborative track is pretty sweet:



edit: Also I should mention, Spanish DJ John Talabot just released his debut full length album, definitely fits in this genre, I dig it:

My favorite "house" DJ's have been Benny Benassi, Fedde Le Grande and Deadmau5. David Guetta isn't bad either IMO.

Hypnotica from Benny Benassi is one of my favorite albums, I listen to it at least once a week.

"Sofi Needs A Ladder" is one of my favorite songs from Deadmau5. Turn that **** up!
