Rising Force is/was one of his most popular albums. I would start there. I admittedly have'nt listened to any of his post year 2000 stuff. The (I forget which year) G3 show he did with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai was amazing to watch as well.

My fave Malmsteen disc is Odyssey, with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals.
