Brit Floyd

I saw these guys last night. Incredible show, close your eyes and you're seeing the real thing.

You have to give this band credit, they nailed everything, dead on.

The stage lighting was top-notch. I saw them in a small venue and they rocked the house.

Some songs worthy of mention: "Set Controls for the Heart of the Sun". This was rarely played by Floyd. I've seen them 7 times and only saw this old song played once, as an Encore. This one song by itself was worth the price of admission. The left-handed guitarist really wailed this song.

"Great Gig in the Sky". Again, this one alone was worth the price of admission. The vocalist was treated to two standing ovations during the show, and one more at the end when she was introduced.

The band is on a grueling tour this year. It would be to your benefit to catch them. This is something special, even if you're only a marginal fan.

Seeing them once again adds credence to my mantra:
Someone ought put David Gilmour and Roger Waters in a room with a case of beer, and not let them out until they decide to stop acting like a couple of old ladies. We could use some more of their collective genius.

Gilmour said "Pink Floyd" will not tour or make records with out Richard Wright, so even if Dave and Roger were able to work something out, it would not be Pink Floyd.

That being said, I am interested in seeing this group you speak of. Going to find a schedule and see it they will make it near me.

Kinda funny they said that after they tossed Wright during "Wish You Were Here".

KISS went on without Peter and Ace, The Who called it quits after Mooner, and then again after John, but continue to tour. Ozzy retired, but came back with the "Retirement Sucks" tour.
Black Sabbath soldiers on without Bill Ward.
The Eagles? "The Hell Freezes Over Tour".

I guess when they run out of dough, they'll come up with a reason to tour, or make another recording.

Definitely worth the cost of a ticket though. I was surprised at the lack of "young people" there, then I remembered that I'm 53............

incynr8 and I saw Blue Floyd years ago on the same night. That was a fun show. Have not seen Brit Floyd.

Years ago, my Dad saw Pink Floyd in Wisconsin (or there abouts) and they played Set the Controls.... and had a spaceship on a wire "fly" from the upper deck of the stadium towards the stage and the big screen which had an image of a Sun on it. Cool stuff.

i seen Brit Floyd last summer and i enjoyed it for the most part, the biggest downside was that the audio kept cutting off and power was going out in the middle of their "Animals" part of the show, which can be blamed on the Venue, but overall they put on a really great show
