another New guy

I thought I would Say Hello, as I am new here.
I am getting back into the sport after a long break, I starting playing around 1995 then stopped around 1997. most of the places I lived didn't have a paintball field so I never had a chance to play, now I am in Southern Ontario so I decided to star playing again.
I use to only play Pumpball (I still have my ACI Maverick )

So any Advice on a new Marker and other gear would be great, (I dont think i want to take my old pump out to the field) also if anyone plays in the Ajax/Oshawa/Bowmanvill any info on the local fields would be great.

New gun? Phantom, Gargoyle, Line SI? CCM's and other such "Snipers" are all the rage right now.

Welcome and since no one else was nice enought to say it yet, watch your wallet and beware of MAr.

Thanks for the warm welcoe, I was looking at a tippmann 98 Custom (mocked up to look like a AK-47) they are under $200.00 here with a C02 or HPA tank. I like the Millsim look, but will take any advice given to me.
its been so long since i played I feel like a total noob when it comes to getting a new marker.

I intend to do some work on my pump, get a better barrel (if I can find one)
and add a Red Dot sight to it.

AUTOMAG!! I cam back from a 5-6 year break and had nothing. I picked up my uncles automag, added a little oil and a seal... was good the rest of the day. Oh, did I mention the mag hadn't been used in 10 years! that sold me.

To be honest, buy/use the gun you feel like using as you will sooner or later want to try different styles. Try the set ups that interest you the most as it's your game. Do what makes it fun for you. I've gone from milsim/scenario to electro to pump where I am very happy. I wouldn't have wanted to skip over any of them as each cranked my tractor at the time.

dont go milsim. theyre heavy and bulky and just slow you down. trust me, i built one over the winter to keep me occupied, played with it once, and went back to my pump and electro.

Agreed, stick with the old school pump! Just remember, when you shoot out the kid wearing all the latest tourney gear, shooting his $1600 Dye NT, you have to say something like "Wow, i havent played in 13 years! And i just found this gun proping a window open at my grandmothers house!"

Welcome.
