Another new kid.

Hey everybody.

I am new to this forum but experienced in the sport. I use a 98 custom with a red dot sight and the new proto hopper, the JT elite headshield, remote coil, 20 oz. co2 with a spare 14 oz., bt 6+1 harness and camoulage clothing. I have gone to paintball for school and loved it. I got my dad into it and he uses the a5. We went to splat tag in Wisconsin a few times and had a lot of fun. I f you have any advice or tips, let me know. Thanks.

the bt 6+1 where the 6 pods are sideways? i got that one too! i never understand how other people can find the vertical ones easier to reach. the elite's foam isn't very comfortable though. do try a few others out at a pro shop!

the vertical pods are easier to reach because you can use either hand to grab the pod from either side.

The biggest problem I see with the horizontal pods is that they stick out a lot on the sides & make it difficult for the harness to fit your body. a bad fit causes extra shifting around while running & makes it difficult to move quick.

learn to shoot with either hand
communicate with your team about what's going on in the game & how to fix bad situations
find the perfect level of aggressiveness - too much & you'll get shot moving or get snapped out, too little & you will give up the field & the angles
don't bug out - when you get a lot of pressure put on you, some players just run or try to keep moving. only make a move to a better bunker & only make it when you can do so without being shot.
when attempting an ambush, make sure you wait for a good shot but don't let it get away either. On big fields with thick undergrowth, hit & run attacks can be very effective.

Welcome to MCB!
The beauty of the Automag is that when you get it set up just how you want it, you discover that you have enough leftover parts to build 2 loaners.

Welcome to MCB. Also an unofficial welcome to Splat Tag. There are a bunch of us on this forum that play there. Darrin (the owner) is a stand up guy who takes good care of his regulars. Come out and play pump with us sometime - Splat Tag has pump events on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
