Thought I'd throw this out there. Dickies work pants are very heavy duty. Something I noticed was that the knees are doubled up, but only connected around the edges. May be worth unstitching one of the seems, and sticking some padding inside. You could also add padding around the crotch, and wherever else you want padding.

It'd give you a clean looking pair of balling pants, that are still strong, and well padded. Also good for sleepers. PLUS, JCPenney forever has them on sale!

I've just ordered a set of Tanked paintball pants for a friends birthday.

They're kinda "flashy" or "high fashion" if you know what I mean. But he's a serious airball player (D1 NPPL, past XPSL series champion, etc.) so he seems to be into that type of gear.

If you're into airball, speedball, xball, etc. maybe you'd like to check them out too.

If you're into woodsball, scenario, etc. Full Clip is coming out with a line of camo gear that I'm really curious about. I believe that it might be based around "multicam" patterns.

I used to own a pair of Dye or Proto C6 pants. They were durable and kept the paint off whatever clothes you had underneath but they were HEAVY. Think "5 lbs" heavy. Despite some ventilation, they would still make pretty good snowmobiling pants - they're VERY thick and it's easy to overheat in them.

These days, I wear either khaki cargo pants in quick-dry material or something resembling BDU's (CADPAT pattern.) I'm only getting hit once, if at all, but I have to wear my pants all day. I just don't find typical speedball pants comfortable. Khakis are great.

BTW: I have a pair of khakis with zippers that open up "slots" in front of the knees for adding knee padding. (!)

I used to be a die hard Jeans wearer, but a while back I met up with Devilhead in tahoe and he let me borrow some of his proto pants..06's i think. Man..the knee padding on those pants is fantastic. They have some ventilated portions that i dont like all that much. The breeze is nice, but the foxtails are brutal especially when they get hung up in the venting on your inner thighs

Still, im on the lookout for some of those pants now, they just work very well.

I have a pair of 05 Angel Air time pants. The one thing I loved about them over any other pairs (namely Dye) is that the logo's and accents are still attached to the pants.

I wash my pants in the washer after every use, the one thing that bugged me most about Dye is that all of their "welded" logo's is that they would fall off (some of the newer ones don't seem as bad, but I haven't bought anything else since)

The Airtime pants are quite fashionable, well ventilated, (I wear them when I go mountain biking) eye catching and stay together. After nearly 3 years of abuse and washes, the only thing that has come off has been the tags on the inside.

The internal kneepads and overall comfort of the Smokin' Outlast pants are nice. They also breath really well.
