but all the same, its probably what killed most of the old pumps in the old days, they were available only in bare or black from what i could see, altho, if you had companies offering mavericks with the same colourful offerings as phantoms, but cheaper, (might be less varied as well) you'd think mavericks would be pretty popular.

Another downfall of the Maverick is that it was not REALLY well made. It was ok, but not great.

they probably would have been more popular.. that would have been interesting..

Ide say, currently.. there is a huge appeal to ccm products, the s6 is incredibly popular on pbn(if that means anything..) to the point where people will swap high high end semi's for them.. my friend scored an 06 nexus ego, he added like 100 dollars.. in a trade for his s6.. lol. 550 dollar marker traded for 1550..

Wait... the Phantom is cool?

Then why am I playing pump with Sheridan KPs, LBs and P68-ATs?

I want to be cool too! Do I really need to add a Phantom to the collection?

Brewtt, no-one can explain why you do what you do.

Actually, I agree with you. I much prefer playing with my brass.

I like brass, too.

But there is something to be said about a gun that doesnt require polishing the barrels bore all the time. Yummy Lapco barrels.

I just enjoy playing with well built, reliable markers. Regardless of brand or materials, if it works well, and lasts with little to no maintenance, it is a good one.

I really have no troubles with any of the styles of pumps. They are all good and all have pluses and minuses. Use what you like, I say.

Very simple, Mike have been making Phantoms for longer than most of the paintballer have been alive, way before the advent of the Internet hype or owner groups.

Mike believed in his design and it shows up in the product. once in awhile we see an improvement being included to the basic design, as always Mike tries to sneak it in without much fanfare.
