I played a lot of ball back in my highschool and college years but i've been out of it for about 5 years now. Just bought an a5 to play some woods ball with some guys from work and now i'm hooked again. A few of us are thinkin of puttin a team together and tryin to hit up some tournaments and an a5 ain't gonna cut it. I'm lookin at alot of options now compaired to back in 2001, so i'd appreciate some input. Back in the day we played mostly woodsball so i've never owned an electro. I've been lookin at a few different options:


new-mini, axe, etek3
used-ego8 , or karnnivore.

I'm lookin to spend somewhere between 400-600. Help me out here guys. I've done some research of my own but input from people who have used them is always best. And if anyone has any of these currently up for sale in my price rangge let me know. I'm checkin the buy/sell/trade section daily.

I think the Axe is one the best guns ever made to be honest. Although I'me very interested in Macdev's new gun, the Drone DX. Supposed to be $500.

I'd suggest the Dangerous Power FX as well. Honestly one of the most under rated markers in that price range.

In the New category your leaving out one very nice marker. The new MacDev Drone. It's a Tac Drone without all the milsim rails. The internals are updated and I believe are Clone compatible or very closely based off the Clone internals. I love MacDev, there customer service is hard to beat and they arguably make one of the nicest markers and have very tight specs on their gear. Plus they are made in Australia so you know it's going to be sexy. They are MSRP'ed at $550.

MacDev is saying MSRP of $550 but lets see what everyone will have it at, MacDev said they should ship starting next week.

I've heard good things about the Angel A1. Kinda spendy though. I know someone selling one CHEAP!

One guy I play with plays nothin but pump and has a couple ccm/cci. Not my thing. The dangerous power fx is another gun I looked at, just wasn't sold on it. Never really looked into macdev.

I have shot/played with all of the markers on your list besides the karni. I am going to say Axe hands down. I play mostly pump/mech but if i were to buy another electro the axe would be my choice. The only reason i still own my etek3 is because my girlfriend loves that marker otherwise i would trade or sell it for an axe tomorrow.

hated my mini (older v3) and just generally not a spool valve person...my vote always goes with the ego....bought my 09 ego used and havent had a single hiccup from it

Ive never used an axe but ive heard only good things about it. I would say go Karni but an axe is going to weigh less, have less kick and not smack you in the face when you get all close up in it.
