Going Electro

Well I have an Ion and it works well but I want a better gun minus all the hassle of hoses and autococker timing. What would be a good one? My friend has a dm6 no hoses all milled in the inside and a ul frame and it is quite nice. What are your opinions? I want to stay away from cockers at all costs.

Thanks

Angels are pretty cool as well.

I have an older 2k1 or 2k2 Cobra Mamba Angel that is being upgraded to 9volt and possibly getting a new board of some sort.

When she gets back, I will see if I can ride her right into the poorhouse with all the paint she throws! Hey, at least I will be able to build myself a replacement house out of all the paintball cases she will empty... under a bridge somewhere with the other electro-toting homeless guys.

At ~$500, you have some great markers to choose from:

Down here in South Texas, the Proto Matrix Rail seems to be the big seller. It is the little brother of the Proto Matrix and it comes with a lot of standard features that the Ion lacks, such as a clamping feedneck, snatch grip, and cocker threaded barrel. The PMR is also very light.

The DP Fusion seems to be getting a lot of attention right now as the best bang for the buck, but I have yet to see on in person. They are also supposed to be easy to set up and maintain. I wish I had known about the Fusion before I bought my Ion.

Intimidators can be found relatively inexpensively and are still considered to be great markers that are supposed to be easy to maintain.

A lot of people seem to like the Invert Mini now that the initial board defects have been solved.

At the high end, it really seems to be a matter person preference and how much money you want to spend. All high-end competition markers these days come "max'd."

However, if money was no object to me, I would probably get the Angel 1 because it is supposed to have a USB port .

Fusions are really idiot proof once you realize that you turn the screw INWARDS to lower the pressure on the regulators. No dwell adjustments to tinker with, you need not tear down the marker to make adjustments to the trigger pull (once you get the hang of it you can get obscenely short pulls.) And they don't take much more than ten seconds to get at every seal in the gun for greasing when the day's over.

Ion's aren't bad except they're a pain to take apart to re-grease.

My vote is for the Fusion also. I played with it once, and went out and bought one.
