| Matrices are fantastic markers. They don't mind HP preset tanks and as long as you don't mind maintaining them(clean and grease the bolt every day of play, do the regs every couple/few cases) they are very reliable markers. I have a PM6 and love it. I got rid of a Shocker for it and am very glad I made the switch. They use Autococker barrels so lots of kits are available and most likely you can keep the barrel for your other markers if you ditch the Matrix. Matrices have a bunch of o-rings in them but as long as you maintain a good clean and grease schedule they generally treat you well. If the marker does start to goof up a cheap o-ring kit rebuilds the whole marker and basically restores it to new performance again. A matrix will generally shoot better and better the longer you own it rather than going the other way like most markers. Little to no kick and a pretty quiet shot. Angels are nice but they require a tool kit to maintain, are harder to tear down for general maintenance and generally don't work well(or not at all) with HP tanks. They require an adjustable or low pressure preset tank so you'll either have to buy a special tank just for the Angel or spend more to get an adjustable tank if you switch markers a lot. Barrel threads are Angel specific so kits basically go with the gun when you sell it. Angel markers have super nice machining and quality is top notch but when they have issues, they are booger bears to figure out and expensive to fix(from the local field's gun tech super nerd who can fix ANYTHING). If you decide on a Matrix, seriously look at the Proto line. They have the same guts as a Dye Matrix and cost half to a third as much due to the Dye name not being on them(although they are manufactured and supported by Dye).

| I have owned (and just bought another) 05 proto matrix. I was surprised how much I liked the thing because I have never been an electro kind of guy. I baby my stuff so it got plenty of attention so the maintenance part was nothing. As far as operating, it was accurate with the stock barrel (but I recommend an upgrade), quiet as hell, no kick, etc. I only got rid of mine before because I lost my job and was selling everything I owned to keep the family fed. The only issue with them is the fact that every year they come out with a new model and they don't hold value for crap. I have owned a few angels but never kept them around long. I just didn't get the "ohhh" feeling I expected when I purchased them. |

| I owned a Angel 05 Speed. If you like the feel of an Angel (more positive shot feel to me) then go with it. If you don't mind the 'chuff' of a Matrix - then go with the Matrix. In good shape, you really can't go wrong with either. TF |

| This isn't really a technical issue, it is more of a preference issue. I love the feel of an Angel, especially with a 90* frame. Some consider them hard to work on but, I really don't. They are the basic ram/hammer electro so trouble shooting is quite simple, as most players seem to have owned several guns that function like that (Impulse, Bushy, Nerve, Tribal, etc). The Angel just has a feel to it that really appeals to me. The Matrix kinda feels dead, I don't know how to explain, I just don't get the feel I want when I shoot one, kinda like driving a car with a mushy suspension system, you just don't feel the road the same, it is something like that. When you get into the High end of markers, it really doesn't matter which one you choose, all of these markers can shoot faster than you can, and do it reasonably well. However, many people really like or dislike a marker, and they will attempt to make facts that justify their position of why marker A is so much better than marker B but, truth be told You gotta try things out in order to know what YOU will like or dislike. |

| MCB Member | From what Ive seen, SDLM has it as right as it can be. They all end up being very similar, even 05 markers versus current 07 guns, they shoot very much alike. It just depends what you like. I dont really like the size of the spoolers, and how the loader is located a bit further forward. Makes a huge difference in marker feel. The angels..at least later model ones like the 05 speed are as simple as anything else. Just like everything else, once it is dailed in, it is dialed in. The angel owners group is jam packed with support too.
