I used to wear some nice wool type stuff that I picked up at Costco. Now, since I wear VFF's, I wear Injinji socks. I have some nice taller stuff that is about the medium thickness. Mostly just to absorb swear.

If we do a deal, where you are sending me something, please don't use UPS. Out of the last three packages, one was delivered to my neighbors next door (Damn thieves), one was delivered with an item that was grossly not what I had bought, and the third wasn't delivered, but claimed to be.

Another fan of smartwool here.
They're comfortable with or without polypropelene liners.

So I went with Thorlo running socks. Mainly synthetic (supposed to be wicking) with thick padding along the whole bottom and sides of the sock. They're crew length to keep my ankles covered in case my pants shift and thin on top so I might actually be able to lace up my cleats correctly. Trying them out this Saturday - I'll report back on how they are.

I wear some thick tube stocks for some cushion and use foot powder generously. Feet stay cool and dry in my boots.

I just use normal crew socks without any problems. Got a pair of Tommy Hillfiger (sic) ones at an outlet mall a while back and they're fantastic!

This is what I use and really like them. I got them for when I had a kilt and have continued wearing them ever since.

I used to do the two-sock thing, or wrap my feet in tape before putting on socks..

But about a year ago, I discovered WrightSocks (WRIGHTSOCK Anti-Blister Double Layer and Performance Sport Socks). It's a dual layer athletic sock, so you get the two layers sliding against each other to prevent blisters, and they breathe really well.

I actually wear them every day now, just because of how comfortable they are.
