If "No one hates ou[r] " nothern brothers" why did your first post sound so negative towards them?
Great poop cultural reference to JB. +10 points for you. Now, lets never mention him again.
I was never apologizing for you. I was sorry myself. Sorry for the Canadians, sorry for myself, sorry for you and sorry for everyone who witnessed.
Your opinion about Canadians and there beliefs on handguns is based on stereotypical generalizations about a group of people. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I am also entitled to my opinion that your stereotyped opinion sucks.
lets be clear:
Stereotyping is prejudice. Even if you had put "(j/k)" after the comment, my immediate reaction would have been, ah he's just baggin on Canadians in good fun. He knows what he is saying is wrong. We are all adults and we can all handle it. But, you have clearly illustrated in your reaction to my post that you show no contrition about or understanding of your wrong doing.
I know this is a long way to go for a minutely offensive prejudicial remark. BUT- do not fool yourself: prejudice and stereotyping are the basis for racism and acts of hatred against other human beings. Call me a carebear. go ahead, I'll probably just end up caring more.
"Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter." Ernest Hemingway, "On the Blue Water," Esquire, April 1936
In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

I think you should make more videos even if they cover redundant tech and safety aspects. You have the parent angle so hopefully people will realize you're a cool responsible parent and trust your advice on other things as well. There's never a shortage of positive attitudes and good information.

When did canadians become a race? I have no clue or even care what race he is. Being super sensitive and so easily offended is what has scewed this world up. Hell, you are more offended than the op. Grow a thicker skin and you might feel better.

I've only watched part 1 so far. Good job! I'm generally a 2A guy but I didn't mind the bit about handguns. It was used for what it was - a comparison of attitudes and explanation of misconceptions. In no way did I take it as a direct comparison between firearms and paintball.

I'm betting the OP didn't think his post would cause all this
Y'know... I love rifles and shotguns, and the handgun comment did not bother me a bit - I fully understood that he's saying "I don't dig guns, but I still love paintball - 'cause they're different." Also, it is a statement that takes much of the wind out of the sails of the ANTI-GUN, and therefore ANTI-PAINTBALL crowd.
Now, beyond that --- the videos were a good step in the right direction. I, of course, sent the links to an associate of mine working on his Psych Doctorate (or is it masters... I forget) - anyway, I imagine he'll find it interesting. It is a little stat-heavy, but that's fine for chapter one. NOW what needs to happen is some video of the kids after the game - like masks up and big smiles.
Wait -- aren't there grants for these studies? Get a group of paintballers and a group of vid-gamers, give them a psych profile (test, whatever---I'm a mechanic...), let them do what they do for a summer, observe, report, and retest, then present the findings.
I wish I had the credentials to study this myself.

CAN WE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY FOCUSED.
Imagine a parent coming on to see whats a good resource and see a whole bunch of comments about whose country is better, pro guns, anti guns. Shheeehhhh. But I guess IT is a forum.
Do remember, we all come from different countries, with different political and social beliefs, but we LOVE to shoot each other with paint!!! Imagine, we could solve world peace. LOL!
Anyways, I will work on a video from a Parent to Parents about equipment, frozen balls...., etc. I ll do it over Xmas when the field is closed...LAME !
