Even sponsored players aren't getting as good of a deal as your average Joe 6 pack in the US. Heck if you buy a field membership to my local field it's still $80 a case. With that said that $80 even if I shoot semi would last me at least 2 weekends if I were to spray like a maniac or 4 weekends if I play semi the way I normally do. If I'm playing pump well then a case would last me an entire season.

Personally, I used to be a back man. I lived on pray and spray, and stop playing paintball because I couldn't afford to play anymore. Sold almost all my markers, and built a Nelson. Pump is just so much more fun. Granted, I am looking for a Karni after taxes come in, but that's just a dream marker of mine.

As far as Canada is concerned from what I have seen $80 a case is like winning the cheap paint lottery. Hence Pump gets loving with the players who can't raid someone elses' pocket book. Plus as man have said it is about the challenge, you play pump or even that style and you get better since you have to pick and choose your shots and adapt your playstyle. When/if you do play semi on occasion with a full hopper (100+ rounds) you will be amazed at how well you do. I have never had more than 100 rounds on the field with me for a normal game since I started playing and normally a 20 min game is just me and my winchester, whether pump or semi and I wouldn't have it any other way. |

Paint sure is expensive in Toronto. $.10/ea is the friendly price at most fields and there's no place to play outlaw without really being outside the law. Why play pump? I have no idea, I prefer limited paint semi. A semi with 10 shot feed has a lower ROF than an auto-triggered hopper fed pump. Stock class though, now that's an entirely different animal. |
