Mechanical Ion Lubrication
I was wondering what would happen if I used regular air oil to lube the bolt o-rings on a mechanical Ion. Hypothetically let's say I was at a scenario game out of state and needed to clean my bolt and re lube it and I realized all I had was regular old Gold cup oil in my gear bag. Since it doesn't have a solenoid I should be fine right? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

For a quick fix, might do the trick. Just don't run it through the asa, apply it directly. Still don't recommend it over grease, though; if i were in that situation, i'd start walking around asking for SOME kind of pb-approved grease.
I decided to find out for myself over the weekend and it seems to work fine. Emptied a full 20oz Co2 tank and the only thing I noticed was a very slight leaking sound that preceded each shot. I didn't have a chrono so I don't know if I was losing velocity but as far as I could see from the flight of the rounds I wasn't getting any drop off.
