Whats the point of having league play if your gonna rewrite the rules on the fly. Why not just have a giant rec game and everybody splits the pot. You talk about being proffesionals. Well then be a proffesional and suck it up and play like it's your job. Which it is when you are a pro.

Ask any real pro in athletics if they would have been up for the play off. It was noting more then collusion between the players, owners, and the league. They deprived the spectators of what they deserved by breaking their own rules. ( by the way great way to court new sponsors ....... not!)

| MCB Member | I agree. They should have played, for all the above mentioned reasons. It is interesting though. Ollie seems to gloss over the 2nd game. How did the referee's decide to give the game to Impact? Maybe the call was not as unjust as Ollie makes it appear. Maybe it was Impacts and that was the end. If it wasnt, they certainly should have played the final 1 vs 1 games. So maybe -- Impact did not want to risk losing because they really believed they deserved the 2nd game win. And so even if the Ironmen did destroy Impact in the 1 vs 1's Impact would have raised such a stink about the 2nd game that it would have been a bigger mess. Maybe the Ironmen knew that Impact deserved the 2nd game too, so they thought if Impact raised the stink, that the win would have gone to impact. Just some guesses. |
