| Post Whore Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Amherst, Maynard, and Northampton Massachusetts. | I like the Freak kit because it's affordable... The Scepter is nicer, but not as affordable if you have markers in multiple colors/threadings. The J&J edge is nice, but I'm a fan of insert-based kits, personally. If you're using one piece barrels, however, you can't go wrong with Lapco, Taso, and Armson... They're all I use besides my Freak.

| Why am I here...? | Buy a used Freak kit, you ain't supporting SP because someone else already paid them for it a long time ago. Other then that, I support the python. EDIT: I thought about it, it really depends on what gun you are using. Barrel kits IMO are more useful on a pump gun (especially stock class) as opposed to a semi auto, where you will much more likely balance a missed shot with another shot.

On my phantom, there were no more shots per 12gram than the stock barrel. On my automag, an oversize PPS barrel shot better than a freak matched to the crappy rental paint. With nice paint, they shot equally accurate as far as I could tell in actual use (not rigging up a testing platform or anything) I prefer one piece barrels over multi piece barrels, too. Makes more sense to me.

| Seasoned Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Northern California U.S.A. | Going BACK to Multi insert barrels on my Closed bolt cockers. While my Blazers using brass .690 PPS barrels with wedgets shoot most paint really well, I am unable to deal with the roll outs and lousy consistency issues shooting my WGP cockers using a fixed size barrel. They require very consistent paint to work right, I am fed up with the hassle. So I just picked up a used Scepter 7PC barrel kit for $60 ** Added 2 wedgets to my PGP to stop roll outs, that worked well for that fixed barrel gun. |

| Got Rage? Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Northwestern Pennsylvania | I have several cockers and I'm just not happy unless I have a kit because I'm a little OCD about paint/barrle match. I just bought a new Scepter 7 bore kit for $105 shipped from a store on ebay. Fantastic barrel system at about 66% the cost of a freak. You can get different backs and tips for the Scepter from Powerlyte. I believe they're about $30 each so they beat Smart Parts in that department too. A note about Powerlyte: I'm very particular about my stuff and a couple of the inserts had flaws I was not happy with. I called them Thursday about 10 minutes before they closed and had 2 new inserts in my mailbox Monday morning. No hassle, no questions asked and a very friendly and respectful customer service rep. I was impressed.
