B - you saying the virus hoppers will only survive 1 hit?

Sounds likely.

Meh... I disagree.

Not mine. My clear Virus hopper has taken many hits. Holds up great. Very strong. I love it. Favorite little pump hopper by far.

I just got one for about $3 - it really does feel like a Nalgene bottle. I have much higher hopes for it than any of those Brass Eagle hoppers.

Winchesters can't be beat for durability, though. Opaque plastics are almost always more durable, plus they have quite a bit of flex to absorb impacts.

Exactly ... WTF is with people who have no clue making comments like 1 hit hopper? PBVirus hoppers are SOLID hoppers.

Yes, because we all know B is entirely clueless... He knows his stuff, and there is quite a bit of reasoning behind his comment:

I have had mixed success with them (and from what I have seen), and it really does depend on the paint, angle, and velocity of the impact, and also most likely the age of the hopper (and previous hits). A few weeks ago during an indoor game (under 250 fps), a teammate of mine was using a Phantom with a PBVirus hopper. The shot from across the field (30 feet or so) went straight through the front of his hopper, and destroyed all the paint inside. I am not talking a crack, I am talking a nice 1" hole punched right through it.

Rigid plastics are not going to be as durable in terms of cracking as more flexible plastic, generally speaking.

So in other words .... they might fail when they get old and brittle and take many hits? In other words, NOT JUST 1 HIT?

Sorry, the statement was just bunk. PBVirus hoppers are strong hoppers. There's no way you get a punch-through like you describe on a new, uncompromised one.

Tems like 1 hit hopper are more properly applied to pocket hoppers and such; these hoppers are much stronger from the get-go.
