Honestly, probably a Viking. Not traditional stacked tube, but still fits the bill.

They are as good as anything but weigh about two pounds more than an etek5

I have both an Impulse and an Etek5 and like them both very much.

Impulse: louder, yes. TechT Hush bolt and a better barrel will quiet it down, and they get quieter as they break in. Definitely not loud like an Etek *4* though. I love the Impulse trigger, very snappy. The Impulse is also extremely light and oh so thin, like something from the future. It really is an amazing gun. They aren't making parts anymore though. That's a pretty big strike against it. Impulse comes with the OLED display stock, but note that it doesn't have a shot counter, if that matters to you.

Etek 5: Quieter than the Impulse, but again, it isn't like you're shooting a spool. It sounds like a poppet. I really don't like the trigger when just playing around with the marker, but when I air it up that all changes, and it feels just right. Compared to the Impulse, the Etek 5 feels massive in the hands...but in a good way. OLED is nice, but definitely not required. Skip it if you're short on cash. PE customer support is pretty awesome, and you can find parts.

If I had to pick one I would go for the Etek, just because the Impulse is discontinued. I sure do love my Impulse though. Hope it never breaks.

Side note: if you want an Impulse, IMPED has a black one for sale that he has taken impeccable care of.

Just to throw this out there, LV1's can be had under $600 at this point pretty easily. If you want the absolute best shooting poppet valve gun, that is it. Period.

With the lever valve and a high shot count, the LV1 can be tuned to have a shot quaility approaching some of the smoother spool valve platforms. It really is an amazing shooter, and this coming from someone who shoots mostly spoolies

There's 5-6 of them for $600 or less on PBN classifieds currently just in the first two pages.

I also noticed a cyborg 6 in there with an asking price of $500, as an aside.

Etek 5. Buy it, shoot it, clean it twice a decade.

if you cant find a used LV1 for your price range, then an Etek 5 will definitly be your best plan B

im a huge AKA guy, and would love to steer you towards a viking, but they are NOT light, they are not cheap, and if you break it, sometimes you have to wait a bit for replacements, as the guy that runs the company now does it as a part time job.

Eclipse is easy to maintain, easy to fix, and even easier to find parts for

I wanted to buy new, but $600 for an LV1 sounds really nice. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Dangerous Power Fusion Elite?
