Case of bad luck i guess... I've had those pants too, you should know. And in some regards i liked em better than the Dye '07 pants. Pockets were better, swab pocket was placed better, lighter... All in all a good pant for the price. The dye pants are about the same, guess you pay for the brand instead of the quality. Good thing i bought it at a discount.

Just light breathable shorts, a comfortable padded cup, neoprene knee wraps with a little padding, and some cheap walmart cleats, and i am ready to go. Oh, and i nice pair of goggles of course. Most the time i dont even bother with a shirt. Its just extra weight anyway. Besides its hot in florida...and i need a tan, trust me.

When lived in florida a few years back, I used to wear a wife beater, shorts, and flip flops. I am sure the JT Ice Mask and the $1500 gun gave it me away though

I like my paintball gloves. Other than that, I can't really say any of that other stuff is worth it.

I look cool. And the kevlar knees on my Reacts are nice to have, along with the padded crotch. I've taken a bounce or two there.

Summers in south Florida suck. I would play in shorts and bring a bunch of crappy t-shirts. I have seen many a noob pass out in the summers. It would be like 100+ on the field and they are there in all their tourney gear with jerseys over shirts and heavy black pants. Reminds me of the hours we spent standing in the quads at the Citadel in the summers when people would lock their knees and drop because of poor blood circulation.

Remember: Looking cool ends when you pass out from stupidity and face plant the earth.

To find something cheaper, you can always wait till the year turns and they slash prices on the previous year's gear. When the 05 line came out, I got my Proto pants for $40. Still using 'em today. Great deal.

I dunno, Harb. I think I could pull off the "stupid idiot" look pretty well.

I personaly like the new APS pants, very confertable and very durable, but they stand out (a plus for me) and I don't know how well they ware in the summer.

I still have yet to see the need to spend hundreds of dollars on "pb" clothing.
