Would you use magnetized sabots, or try to ionize the paintballs?

OR... go back in time and track down some of the old California Magnus "Metallic Paints". WORST PAINT EVER, but I wonder if it would have worked in some sort of rail gun? curious

well, HP if i remember right he said AGD had the money to revamp the E/X mag, to modernize it, or defend themselves against SP in court, but not both. and unless you can do both, it makes no sense to do one of them.

As far as buying SP used... I don't do it a) cuz I hate their business practices, b) cuz I don't like their stuff, so I don't want it in my hands. Add to that, those of us who don't buy it used drive resale down. Meaning, value is inherently lower to the original purchaser.

Also, somewhere I saw a post by Aaron Alexander regarding improvements made to the Excal platform, air systems, regulators, etc for use on his personal guns... which, of course, he can not produce due to the SP "agreement". An Excal 3? Sounds good to me... supposedly trayless, too, based off an MQ.

I honest can not think of any real technology improvement in the late 10 years, but I believe that is more because of the conglomerization of the industry, and not specifically because we have "already discovered everything".

I can't agree that tech has plateaued so much as stalled on the market due to changes in the market. mech for instance, I honestly feel has yet to reach its true potential with rt and pnumatic triggers, but the market and willingness to push it to market hasn't been there, nor i think will it be, but innovation has continued in the background. I think e-guns are the same way, Sp has things locked up tight enough that only the biggest companies have the resources to produce cheaply enough to be competitive and still pay SP's fees. theres no incentive for little guys to come to market, sell their ideas for a few dollars they might never see or push the envelope without having their ideas stolen or litigated out of existance so while some innovation has continued, it hasn't been reaching the market place. The big guys don't have to be innovative, they can tweak the status quo and make money. little changes in battery life and weight can be considered big in the absence of real innovation.

What's wrong with SP stuff? Sure, the guns aren't that great, but they make a decent barrel, and most of the stuff used is dirt cheap. I don't use any of it, because I prefer a brass barrel, and I really don't need 6" of porting , but to say they're the downfall of paintball is ludicrous.

I'm not a fan of PPS's business practices, but I still buy their stuff used.

The thing I'll shout when I split open the head of a certain Mr. Gardner.

No need to be a internet tough guy over the issue.

Decent barrel? Not imo. I feel like their stuff is all junk... then again, my barrels are Lapcos, AKAs, and brass, so the SP barrels I've shot were nothing impressive. I have a very high standard for quality. Really, they've got no engineering department, just trial, error, and theft. Their "patented spiral ported rifling" was intended to be self cleaning. Didn't work, so they marketed it differently, as more accurate (riiiight). Their "Magic Box"? Ask anyone. Shocker and Ion are based on the Matrix, Impulse and PVI Shocker weren't their design. Sanchez was making 3-pc kits long before the Freak, too.

So, I think AC Basbas speaks for all of us when he says "Knyaaaaaargggggghhhhhhgggglllle" and wishes to split a certain Mr Gardner's skull. I'd gladly provide the bludgeon.
