| Carter Buzzard??? Anyone have a manual on the buzzard? I am thinking of getting one, but since this will be my first pump ever. I would like to see what goes into breaking down the gun, cleaning, maintenance and replacing parts. Please let me know if you have a copy that you can email or fax, I would give you my information so you would be able to send it to me. thanks to all of you. |

| It is a nelson based gun just like a phantom with little if any performance difference for the price tag. Feel free to use the CCI parts blowup as a stand in (but note there a few differences such as the cocking mechanism): the phantom paintball gun CCI |

| I'd start a little lower for a first pump. Maintenance is the same as any nelson, I dont know if there even is a "manual". By the time most nelson users get a carter they tend to know what they are doing. I would look at a phantom or a used sheridan for your first pump, IMO. Phantom if you like light markers, sheridan if you like heavier ones, as they are made from brass. Or a Sniper, an autococker converted back to pump. You can also look at Palmer's markers and other nelsons, Lapco's grey ghost re-release is quite nice, and much like the phantom. There's plenty of older pumps for sale here on the forums too. Maintenance on a carter is mostly oiling it through the ASA, it will be easily disassembled, but be aware it's fairly heavy. Have you used any pumps before? Which did you use and what did you like/dislike about them? Perhaps your income is more disposable than mine, but I tend to ask myself a lot of questions before buying a $600+ new price marker

| I have not used a pump at all, this will be my first time. have yet to run into anyone that has one, or played with a pump at the fields i have gone to. I have just been wanting to add a new dimension to my game. I am leaning to playing woodsball more, like the sneaking around thing and selecting my shots. I have two guns, Mech WGP auto cocker, old school electro spyder that been upgraded. these two are my go to guns, never let me down, keep going no matter what and keep up so far with just about anything out there. even the spyder i seen ppl out there with fancier guns, they will chop or some thing go wrong. mine keeps going. I do have a tippman 68, other spyders and yes couple of SP ones too. I have been checking on the phantoms, that another option i been looking at. and no matter what, price is always something i considered, so yeah the phantom is leading in that. thanks for all the information. | There's very different types of pumps, the autococker-sniper conversions, the brass sheridan/pps style, and the nelsons like lapco, phantoms, and carters. So even if pump is something you know you'll like, see what types of pumps you like before you drop the big bucks Where are you located?

| I agree with the above comments. Get a pump kit for your Cocker, try pump for a bit, then maybe look into getting something else. This is assuming you want something other than your pumped Cocker, some people love Sniper I/IIs. |
