compressed air

i've been playing for about 5 years now and just started using compressed air. i have a friend who works at a fire house and he says he can fill my tanks for me is this true? and if so waht does he need from me. thanks

Not sure what he would need but I do know that the shop taht I get my air tanks filled at uses the local fire dept.'s compressor to fill their bulk tanks so you could do it.

It's possible. What's the pressure rating of the tank? (3000? 4500?) You should be ok if it's just a 3000 psi tank. Not sure they've got the gear to do 4500 fills...

Some SCBA bottles are up to 6000psi now so he should have no trouble filling your bottle to the proper pressure. But SCBA bottles and paintball bottles are different so you may have to buy the parts to assemble an adapter that allows his air fill station to interface with your bottle. Above all make sure he knows what he is doing so he doesn't ruin your bottle or kill someone in the process of saving you $5 per fill.

They use their HPA systems to breathe at your fire department. No doubt they can fill your paintball systems. Ive seen the carbon fiber wrapped systems that most modern firehouses have, Id wager they fill to 4500psi and fill good and slow for a complete fill.

I once asked my local FD if they would fill mine. I even offerd to pay. But they said no.
