Seriously, if you are up front, the airlines generally don't care so long as it's in checked luggage. DO NOT try to take a tank with you. just trust me on this.

Unless the valve is removed, a pressure cylinder is considered a dangerous good. With certain pressure cylinders they will fly them in the heated/pressurized hold, but it is technically illegal to ship any intact high pressure cylinder in checked luggage.

Meaning, that they are either heavily restricted, or just not able to fly. As for the types of cylinders that cannot fly, it is ANY high pressure vessel with a valve installed which is not allowed to fly in an unpressurized hold, certain cylinders, with the proper rating are allowed to fly in pressurized and heated holds, but if the airline isn't checking the TC number and checking the pressure of that vessel, they are in violation of Ministry of Transport regulations and could be heavily fined. And yes, i know this for a fact, it is part of my training. Again, ANY cylinder can fly if it does not have a valve installed, only certain cylinders can fly with a valve installed and in heated/pressurized holds and there are very, very few cylinders which are allowed to fly pressurized and they MUST be kept in a pressurized hold. Someone at the luggage check really dropped the ball in your case.

I did have problems with my teammate repeatedly saying how he "couldn't wait to get his guns back and shoot some people".. including in the airport security checkpoint..doh! ![]() Lo

I contatcted Customs Canada last year when I was bidding on a bluestreak, because I was unsure about importing firearms, and the lady I spoke to said that unless it has a velocity of greater than (I believe the number was 600 or900 fps) it was not considered a "firearm". Rather it was "recreational sports equipment". After 911 I wouldn't use the term firearm or gun to describe a marker... just to be on the safe side. | |

(Checked in luggage) And any tanks must be with valves removed (ie an aluminum "threaded neck" vase and a separate valve should present no problem). Most of the world (I guess Philipines too) seems to fly by TSA rules, on the canadian issue? I wouldn't run risks and check the OFFICIAL site and print it out. (Pics can help, but ever heard the fun and games Jeff Dunham has had in customs?) Good luck. PDJ |
