1st, start with proper spelling and grammer in your posts, then work from there.

First of all, welcome to the site.

Are you looking into playing woodsball or speedball- what do you like/ dislike so far?

As for specific questions (like pods, equipment, etc) just post specific questions in this thread and we'll do our best to help you get started.

Spend time reading a lot on the site- lurk around and see what all is here.

Again, welcome!

First of all, not all paintball is about front and back players, pods and fast guns.

Second, it's better to have a good mask than a good gun.

Third, try to outsmart and outmove the other guy rather than outshoot him.

Exactly! Be safe and fun! Your mask is THE most important thing you'll get.

It makes no difference at this point. Everyone can try everything. You should stop worrying about trying to play like a tourney pro and just go play.

My advice would be: Don't worry about it. You'll fall into your groove once you get some field experience. A good rule of thumb is that the front players should be at a minimum decent sprinters, and you will probably want someone that can fling a lot of paint to stay towards the rear. Caveat to that is that I'm strictly referring to speedball...woodsball is an entirely different animal.

Good luck!

Try a little of everything - if you're playing speedball/airball/hyperball/whatever on a small enclosed field with bunkers, play a game from the back, front, middle, sides, what have you. Switch around and see what you like and don't like. Try a game in the woods (woodsball), that's where it all started!

Most importantly, as Cameron said, your top piece of equipment is your mask. Find one you like and can change the lens on easily. I personally don't use JT masks as they give me fits trying to change the lens out.

When you play, AIM. Don't just spray the bunker or general direction where the opposing team/player is.

Above all - Have Fun, and remember....It's JUST a Game. No need to get all upset if you get shot out, just see what you did to give the other player a target and learn from it.
