| MCB Member | Check Ebay A lot of used with tanks like this. With the A-5 you can customize the look more. The Alpha goes to M-16 style or M-16 with out the shrouded barrel and stock....

| Rec Poster Join Date: Jun 2007 | I used to be obsessed with tippmann too, StevanJay, but do yourself a favor and end your obsession now! Go with an automag or something. Much better, more reliable, way more upgradeable, and just more generally awesome. You can get one for REALLY cheap, too! Automags.Org Online Forums - Markers Post a WTB for a "classic mag", and you're guaranteed to get some offers. |

I used to think that the pro/am series with tippys best until I had seen the 98s really start to pay off. The trigger is nice and snappy. They are not exceptionally loud Tons of options Can be tuned Incredibly easy to tear down Reliable Reliable Reliable Very easy to clean at the end of the day Cheap Repair parts are available every where if ever needed The A5 is OK but I would never recommend it for a beginner, for one its incredibly time consuming to clean out in comparison to its counterparts. The A5 has no benefit over the other tippmann stuff well except that it makes adding fake gun components easier. If you are wondering about the cyclone I dont agree with it as a revy will be cleaner and cheaper with the same results.

I've owned an older A-5 (fantastic with co2) and currently have a newer one with the large diameter RT hoses/kit and I like it so far. I've also seen a few people with the Alpha Black markers and they have yet to encounter any serious problems. A tossup if you ask me. EDIT: If you go with the Alpha Black marker, I heavily suggest a Viewloader Revolution hopper. Those are fantastic in extreme conditions and will feed that mechanical marker perfectly. Not to mention they are relatively inexpensive. I use Revvys on all but one of my guns (I own 16).
