I just picked up a new PMI 68/4500 "Carbon Fiber" tank. Carbon Fiber is in quotes 'cuz it looks more like fiberglass to me.

The manual with the bottle says nothing about hydro date, and the only thing on the bottle that looks like a date says "5 A 07". The manufactures web site is useless, heck, I can't even verify this is an 800psi output reg on the bottle.

Can someone tell me what the hydro life is on these bottles, and where I find the start or end date on the bottle? Also, how can I verify it is an 800psi output?

A couple years ago like 2006 they Upgraded the alowable hydro period and even upgraded some 3 year hydro bottles as far as I know all the bottles since then have been produced with a 5 year hydro.

All fiber bottles have a maxium 15 year life span from date of manufacture. Older bottles still have a 3 year hydro test - mainly ones produce prior to 2001. Some 3 year hydro bottle produced after 2001 go into a 5 year hydro cycle once tested. Most new bottles manufactured are on a 5 year hydro cycle.
