If you still want to try an SL there's a guy on here that was selling a bunch of ex rental SL68II's for $6o shipped.

Crapload of SL-68 II's

I got one and it cleaned up real nice other than the paint and obvious barrel scratches from the pump. It needed some TLC and new O rings all around.

I played with a borrowed 68II for a pump day a while back. The new paint rolled out the barrel just as you said. One of the guys there mentioned that the quick fix is to add a couple of small strips of electrical tape to the inside of the barrel to very lightly pinch the ball until it's fired. Certainly for a roll out gun I was surprised at how accurate and consistent it was. But me and another guy bought 500 of the GOOD paint and split it. I think that made a huge difference.

It's super fun little marker. I don't think I'll be without one as long as I'm paintballing. It's sort of like showing up at a snooty skeet shoot with a sawed off bank heist shottie...

I had an SL II for 4 years and the only thing that went for a poop was the mainspring. That was all in 4 yrs of regular use.
Loved it, unfortunately my ex new I loved it and while we were getting divorced she chucked it with my 99 cocker.

It was dead accurate with the stock barrel at 275 fps.

Now I have another one and I love this one. I have lots of other pumps that are what you would call "higher end" markers, but these things just keep on working. You can leave it in your trunk for a month, pull it out and use it.
No probs.

My 2 cents.

I don't recall mentioning trades, especially not for smart Farts. Thanks though.
