Footwear?

Okay, I am in the market for some new footwear. In all my years of paintballing I have only worn GI combat boots. During the last game I played I realized that they were not that comfortable. I prefer boots, but do not know where to begin. Any good suggestions? What do you guys wear?

I think that depends on your budget and playing style as well as your needs.

I wear good quality hiking boots (the kind that are a cross between sneakers and boots). I find they work well when going from one style of play to another. Plus I don’t need the full ankle support. My boots are “high tops” but not what I call great ankle support. And this type of boot can be gotten from $35 on sale on up to $150 depending on the brand and quality. It can also be gotten in many different color combinations.

But again, it all depends on YOUR needs.

footwear

I use lowrise football cleats .. but then I play in a ravine ..
Black Sharpies work great for blacking out the trim

Yeah I guess I should of said what my playstyle is. I play 'woodsball'. I prefer something tall with good ankle support, because of a tendency to twist ankles(top heavy), and running through muck.
i think I might have found some:

I play in one of two styles of footwear....

I have a pair of Adidas 3/4 football cleats when I'm in light stuff.

Or, my personal favorites, I have a pair of hi tec Amazon 4 combat boots. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I picked them up at my local Army Navy store.

If you want comfortable, get "Police" or "EMT" style boots. They're a bit pricey ($75.00-$150 range) but they are QUITE comfy, and generally waterproof to boot. They are boots that were designed for people who work hard on their feet all day.

You can recognize them pretty easily by their tread usually. It looks more like sneaker tread than your average lug sole.

I play mostly woods and the Sac Pump Day field, both of which are dirt/grass, and I've found I prefer mid-rise football cleats for climbing up and down hills and sprinting to the next bunker.

I have always played in cleats (soccer)one time I did have to play in tevas as i left my cleats behind once. I have strong ankles so there is need for support.

Ive always played in Skate shoes simply becuase I havent ever given it a thought.

Recently it has become appearant that I need a good set of cleats(ask hurtcow). I get no traction.

I'll probably be looking for something with a decent hightop for some ankle support.
