New gun questions

Wasnt sure if I should post this here but I have a few questions about my new gun(Been playing a few times and bought it cause it was so much fun)

So I bought a smart parts Ion XE and it seems like alot of people have problems with it and I was wondering why?

And then lastly what sort of upgrades should I plan on making? I have just a plain old gravity feed hopper which Ive been told should be my first replacement(along with a clamping feedneck). Any other upgrades on the gun itself I should really go for? Better barrel? better board? If any suggestions could you explain why it would help. I seemed to have been doing pretty good with it so far so just looking to improve my game.

First... its you not the gun that makes the difference .. practice practice practice ..
Get a powered loader .. then play more ... stop worrying about upgrades until you find out what about the marker you feel needs to be fixed ..

Relax .. enjoy

Yes, a motorized hopper would be a big help. Are you using HPA? A lot of people knock the Ion, but it's a good budget priced starter gun.

Yea I have had to absolutely control myself since thats how I always get into things is just go full bore, frankly im lucky ive played at all before upgrading haha. I have been doing very well with the gun AS IS, why I was just wondering about the upgrades. But good point none the less.

And yes I use HPA

Don't let anyone tell you what upgrades to put into your gun, play with it some more and find out what you like/don't like about it for yourself and go from there. And don't try to chase extra performance that really isn't achievable by trying to fix what isn't broken.
That said, you really should get a good hopper first.

A decent hopper and tank will be transferable to you next gun. Upgrades on an ion is only slightly better than flushing money down the toilet, you'll never get any resale value from them. Play with it as is, if you get an urge to upgrade, you'd be better suited to try a new gun.

Don't buy into the hype, pretty much any force fed loader will work, you don't need to spend $200 to get something reliable and functional.

A lot of people I see use egg hoppers on them with good success.

Don't let people rag on you because it's an ION. They shoot just fine

Is it really THAT bad to upgrade an ION? What would be the next lvl of guns to try out?

It's not that it's bad, it's just that you can spend a lot of money on items that don't necessarily make your game better. Not only that, but when you "outgrow" your Ion, most upgrades you won't be able to take with you. A tank and loader you can.

Before you really spend any money on it, use that money on paint and air and PLAY, PLAY, PLAY with that marker. Make sure it's what you want and will fill your needs.
