If I am correct, the full coverage is almost like a motorcycle helmet, it covers your whole head. The normal flex8 just covers your face.

Edit: Upon looking at it, the full coverage covers the top of your head and your face, if you're not worried about getting hit on the top of your head, there isn't a need to buy it.

One other huge difference is how HOT the full mask can get on a sunny day, Personally don't think it's worth it.

Another thing I have noticed on the flex8 is my ear lobes stick out the bottom of the mask leaving them no protection at all.

QFT. I get about 1/4 inch or earlobe sticking out past the bottom of coverage and I don't even have big ears! Might not be an issue for some but it is noteworthy.

I still prefer the flex over my invision masks. I hate getting hit in the throat, and if I was ever unlucky enough to get shot in the mouth while yelling I'd be toast.

Cut off your earlobes... problem solved, lol.

Though I may not get as much protection with my Flexes... they still are the most comfortable/breathable masks I've owned.

Full Coverage Flex8 VS Flex8
It all come down to preference really.
Being a guy that is "follicly challenged" (bald) when I get shot in the head, it leaves a nasty welt. I have thought of picking up a full coverage mask but I have always found them to get too hot. I just wear a head band a little higher (bottom of headband sit near top of visor) on my head and that keeps most of the head shot bruises to a minimum.
The Full Coverage Flex8 is pretty much the "Cadillac" of full coverage masks, so you cannot do wrong in picking one up anyways.

One point though, the Flex8 isn't really flexy as you would think. It's quite stiff. Otherwise it's a good mask.

A lot of folks wear their masks too low. Next time, try pushing the strap a little higher on your head, and see if your ears are better covered. This is just about the only reason I wear any headgear.
