Which to buy as my first pump marker?

Which pump marker should I get? The ones listed in the poll seem to appear on eBay or B/S/T forums fairly frequently.

I would like a pump marker that is considered a "classic"; uses fairly standard, easily obtained parts; and is reliable.

That would depend on your price range and whether or not you want it to be Direct feed or Stock Class.

Let's say:

- Best marker for the money

- I'm fine with either stock class or direct feed. Nobody seems to play stock class in my region anyway.

Trracer/Maverick (they're the same btw. trracer was marketed aby PMI, mav direct from aci) You can get a new MAv for less than $100. Best bang for the buck.
Phantom is a slightly better piece, that is more versatile in the long run. But initial investment is more than double.
I have little experience with snipers, so I won't speak to them.

No brass on the list?

I totally forgot about PPS pump markers... but I don't know anything about them.

Brass Eagle Cobra and Talon are both on the list. Is that what you meant, Chappy?

I'd go with the Phantom.
Small & light, quite reliable.
Plenty of after market goodies for them. Easy enough to swap between CA and 12 gram.

Sniper would be my second choice, you can score a really nice Chipley pump kit for no more than $70 tops...and then just pick up a decent cocker off ebay for not much more.

By brass he meant sheridans. You can't go wrong with a sheridan either.

Snipers are good guns beacause they are based on the sheridan...and you get the nice feature of about a billion aftermarket parts and the use of barrel kits.

You probably want to stay away from the older Brass eagle guns.. if you don't have access to parts they can be a bitch to repair.

E

PS - Also stay away from any all plastic P.O.S. brass eagle gun. If you are going to buy a pump that you would like to use for a while, they would be a bad investment.

My first gun was a Kingman Hammer. It's a very solid little marker and takes Spyder threaded barrels, which is a big plus considering its age.

Bought it over ten years ago and still use it regularly.

Get a Phantom. You can make it SC or hopper feed (left, right or center feed) for very little money.
Peace
