Stock Blazers have a pretty heavy trigger
Typhoons are heavy too, you have to learn the trigger to avoid short stroking
Strokers are heavy and even more prone to short stroking.

A Blazer with a 45 frame has a nice light trigger, and shoots really fast, it's almost impossible to short stroke.

Typhoons are brass and weigh a lot, Blazers are aluminum and pretty light.

None of them have the trigger lightness of an electro, you can't really walk the trigger.

(the above opinions are those of the writer alone and do not represent themselves as representative of anyone else's experience)

I started with a Stroker, got rid of it for a Typhoon, got rid of it, got a Blazer, then got another Typhoon.

I now have a Blazer for general play and a Typhoon for "oldschool" rocking. I like both very much.

Sounds good, I am thinking about a Typhoon or Houndstooth these days. I love my Blazer.

I'm looking for a springfed pistol, maybe a squall or micro-squall.

It sounds like either would be better than a stroker or converted PGP.

Where's the Pug rate in all this?

Well, Peter, I would only add that throwing some $$ at a heavy triggered single Blazer or Typhoon will slick them up something fierce.

The so-called "Pro-Touch Trigger Job" (PTTJ) is a nifty way to slick up a heavy PPS trigger. Something makes me think this is not available for Strokers, but I am not sure.

I have a Typhoon that has a single trigger w/ PTTJ and it seems to be the fastest non-electro gun I have, trigger-wise. There might be a few tuned Vectors that have shorter and quicker trigger pulls, but the Typhoon seems to have a much faster operating speed than the Vector, especially those with QEV's as mine has.

So... if you are reading Peter's quite accurate eval and thinking, bummer I wanted the faster triggered one, do not despair.

There is very little that money and a quick trip to PPS can't cure.

Good info DRUM, that just makes me want a Typhoon even more. What upgrades would you recommend for a 2k Blazer?

Like Peter said, those 2k Blazers with the .45 grip frames are dreamy smooth. I prefer the straight "blade" trigger to all other doubles. Other than that, I think the 2k's are pretty near perfect right out of the box generally.

Good luck,
D.

Mikey, a Pug built on a PGP or P-series frame design would be the equivelent of the Stroker with the short throw hammer difference that Azzy described above.

Anything like a full-sized Squall or based on a Typhoon-sized chassis (like an HT, Paladin or SS) will have the K-series-sized hammer throw. That would, of course include any Hurricanes or Painters built on a K-series style chassis.

THanks, Drum
I should have mentioned the Pro Touch Trigger Job (PTTJ)_. If you have a stock PPS frame you can greatly improve the trigger performance with the upgrade. The 45 frame that can be put on a Blazer is as good or better, so you don't need a PTTJ on anything with the 45 frame. P

I love my set-up. If anything I might want a smaller bore barrel for it.

How would a PTTJ compare to a ULT XValve?
