| 1.21 gigawatts! | Hmmm that looks pretty cool.Doesn't look too far from where I go for training in Mahwah.Maybe an hour and a half or so. You guys down in Jersey know any good places around the Mahwah area? I'm down there for training a few times a year and wouldn't mind checking out a couple of places when I'm there.

| MCB Member | ALLRIGHTY! I made my way to the place today at round 9:30. It took my a couple trys to find the place, as they don't seem to have proper signage yet. The main hint I got was on the flyer they state "across from wheels motorsports" It is, in fact, across the road from the BACK of Wheels Motorsports... The other hint I got was this sign; which there were two of for each direction of the road: ![]() So anyway, I eventually figured out where I was and found a spot in the un-plowed lot. It's right on the water. There didnt seem to be many people there. In fact, the building is right up next to a carnival ride place; so the parking lot seemed a bit "funny": ![]() ![]() The rear of the building still had no sign, only a seemingly tiny double door entrace. ![]() I went in and was immediatley happy to see a nicely-sized staging area complete with tables. I was also happy to see that the WHOLE BUILDING is the park. Two fields, in fact! I beleive it would be safe to say that this place is a little larger than E-Jam, although I can't be sure. A couple things that I wasn't too happy about are that the netting they used around the entire place is pretty much impossible to see through, making taking pictures from the sidelines impossible. Just taking pictures inside the place was a little hard from the dark netting. Then again, the netting is nice in that it should keep any unwanted paint out of the staging area. There is a nice little storefront area (with not much in it) and a little side-section for air. I can't imagine what they're going to do once they move the contents of the old store into this place. From the front door: ![]() ![]() A couple more shots of the staging area: ![]() ![]() ![]() FYI; that guy with the beard is the owner. I beleive his name is Fred, but I can't be sure. I'll just call him that for now... It was a little hard getting information, the few people that were there seemed to be pretty busy running around getting random things done. I did get a few tasty tidbits, including they will open at 8am, but have not yet decided on a closing time yet. I'm guessing they want to feel out buisiness before they decide on a set closing time. Also, it is FPO. One thing I am very happy about is that all day play is only $26.50 and that INCLUDES all day air. I do not know weather or not there is a half-day price. Paint is $50 a case. I also did not catch weather you can buy half-cases etc. Another unkown is the days they are open. At least we know Saturdays are a go Yet another plus is that they seem to be a nice crowd. Fred had no problems at all letting me freely roam inside the netting to check the place out and take some pictures. In the very corner is a seam to go in and out. I liked how when you first walk in, you are still not in either of the fields. The first area you end up in is the chrono hall. Sadly, only one chrono: ![]() From the chrono looking back: ![]() The other thing I seem to like is that over the entire mask-on area, there a pseudo "roof" of netting over my head. I would say it was about in the 10-12ft range. Anyway, if you keep going through the next net fold, you have a choice to either go right into the main field or left into the secondary field. I proceeded into the main field and found myself face to face with a multitude of snakes/beercans/doritos/etc. I took these in a panoramic fashion, excluding the last two: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The inflatables all look new and the turf still has that "new turf smell". I walked around a little taking in the surroundings and proceeded on to the sencondary field. It is not actually set up yet, but here are a couple pictures anyway: ![]() ![]() I didn't stay long, as they were not yet ready for players, and I had to get on with my day...but I definatley can't wait to get back sometime and play! All in all it looks promising and with any luck, we can get them to have a "pump and pistols" sort of set time someday in the week. Cheers; III

| Rec Poster Join Date: Mar 2007 | i dont know... Kevin I gave them one of my steam cleaners. I hope so. I dont know what they are doing with paint. i Know they were using nightmare but people said it wasnt breaking on people. The grand opening isnt till April 1st. They are using these 2 weekends to work out the kinks. Make suggestions to the owner( Fred ) he is the one with mustache. They are looking for input .... i am sure they will listen. Who knew there were so many pistol and pump players that would play indoor paintball. All I had to do was listen to NJTAGs input and make field changes. |
